A slight disappointment, Hardy's dual performance is impressive but this is a picture with many issues. The tone of the film bounces around a lot from comedic to violent to romance without sitting quite right in any.
The choice of portraying things from Frances Kray's perspective is strange especially as the voiceover does not work very well.
