Review of Legend (2015) by Sari P — 05 Dec 2015
I'm still having trouble figuring out why this didn't work. Parts of it work, such as Hardy in both roles is fine. However, often -- and I hate bringing this up because it's a personal thing -- the accents were often so thick I couldn't understand a lot of what was being said.
Even putting that aside, most of this is just kind of boring. There's a lot of narration that I didn't think was necessary, any action there is is somewhat uninspired (although the one fight between the brothers was pretty slick), and it feels even longer than it's 2h11m runtime.
Even as anti-heroes, it's rather hard to know who to root for as well, and it's really not even that interesting as a look behind the scenes of gangsters, as those aspects are brushed aside. Unless you're a major Tom Hardy fan, I can't recommend this.
