Review of Legend (2015) by Klenerschluchti — 05 Apr 2023

I was intrigued by the setting and idea so I finally sat down and gave this a watch, as a big Tom Hardy fan I was quite excited initially but found myself a bit let down after it.

The story itself is nothing new, a gangster romance that ends tragically, we've seen it a thousand times already.

The whole trick with Tom playing both roles of the main characters is neat but one neat trick does not make a great movie. For the sound I gotta say I really enjoyed it, lots of jazz mixed with plenty of cigarette smoke so that feeling of the 60's is very nicely caught and presented.

I would say it certainly ain't a bad movie but far from Tom's best performance, if you can catch it on one of the streaming services go and give it a watch but I would not go out of my way to see it.
