Review of Legally Blonde (2001) by Chatvarin L — 12 Jun 2010
This would have been sufficient as just an energetic flick you can always watch, provided you are not a cynic, for a fun ride. What makes it so much more though is that it takes all the fluff of a sterotypical chick-flick and uses it to make some rather important and indeed rather profound statement.
Yes, yes, you can be anything you want, but the real hidden message is far darker, of a degree of darkness not admitted frequently since "King Lear": in this world iniquity holds the rein, somone can actaully have everything whilst the rest of us struggle on to no avail.
Even if it hadn't been so bubbly, for this courage it would have got a high ranking from me.
