Review of Left Behind II: Tribulation Force (2002) by Dave S — 11 Jun 2007
A friend once gave me a copy of "Sidekick Sally and the Sureshot Kid: A Ninja Western." In terms of artistic merit and technical content, I feel this film might be its celluloid equivalent. Honestly, there was a chance to do something really impressive with this film (although it would require much better scripting than the novels -- as written -- could have provided).
Alas, it seems the producers were all too keen to win easy acclaim from an uncritical audience. Cecil B. DeMille made brilliant religious themed epics as a business proposition as much as a devotional exercise.
You would expect the people whose core spiritual passions are fired by the material to make a better effort. Perhaps this project should have been farmed out to a dispassionate third party?
