Review of L'Eclisse (1962) by Ted A — 02 Nov 2008
A well-balanced art film that's not so ARTSY. Alain Delon seem to justify a sleek performance here, as he did in Le Samourai. Monica Vitti is pure glamour and sex appeal and pathos. The nuances are there, the politics, the alienation of men amongst progress and industrialism, but the romance topped it all.
Pure cinema classique!
