Review of L'Eclisse (1962) by Naoya K — 10 Aug 2011
So what do I think about Michelangelo Antonioni's L'Eclisse? Well I think it was well casted for the first, no one plays a more silent beauty than Monica Vitti does, as perfect as she did in L'avventura.
Along we also get a perfect performance by Alain Delon as the young and sexy stockbroker Piero whom Vitti's character, Vittoria falls in love with, right after her break up with her last boyfriend Riccardo (Francisco Rabal) which still hunts her through the movie, and she questioning herself if she's ready for a new relationship so soon.
What is special about Antonioni's movies is that they contains long shots, which is very quiet, to quiet that it can really boar me some times, but I liked the plot and the cast, so a marginal thumbs up from me.
