Review of Leaving Las Vegas (1995) by Ricky C — 08 Aug 2011
What a downer of a film this is! Nicholas Cage plays a Hollywood Exec who has lost his family and now drives to Las Vegas to drink himself to death. He meets a prostitute (Elizabeth Shue) also caught up in a destructive lifestyle and the movie becomes a rather unconventional love story.
In true postmodern fashion, the movie makes no judgment about the character's lives and they don't make any judgment on one another.
