Review of Leave Her to Heaven (1945) by Jonathan B — 04 Jul 2010
The 1940's was really the golden era of Hollywood big stars and big productions. Gene Tierney was a huge star in the 40's this film is one of her best. About an over possessive woman who marries a kind hearted writer and does unthinkable things in order to have her man to herself.
Yes maybe now if you watch this film it might feel a little out dated and over done but thats what this era of Hollywood radiated at this time. Cornel Wilde is good as is all its players and featuring a young Vincent Price before he was named one of the kings of Horror.
Engaging story from one of the biggest studios which made hit after hit at this time.
