Leatherface doesn't just fall short of the preceding films in the story, but I cant recommend it as a story in its own right. The only chainsaw in the film was during the first 30 seconds and last 3 minutes.
Leatherface hasn't really decided what era it is occurring in and uses psychiatry/asylum cliches rather than giving the bloody chainsaw scenes everyone wants.
