Review of Leap Year (2010) by Nicki M — 28 Dec 2010
This is exactly what you think it is. Cute enough story that anyone with half a brain could work out the plot to and exactly what is going to happen before you even take the disc out of the case.
Amy Adams is always likeable. I think if some other actress had done this role the whole movie would have sunk. There is not a lot of chemistry with her and Declan or her and Jeremy. To be honest, could not say I really wanted to see her end up with either of those guys. ....SPOILERS............. Am really getting fed up with the mouthy male stereotype in romantic comedies who somehow you know is a good guy, even though there's little to redeem them on screen, and the women who throw everything away to be with them... because it's love. It would be nice to just see a nice guy, with actual nice looks, and nice personality get the girl instead of this rugged thing that's supposed to be appealing, but actually looks like they can't be bothered. However, for an undemanding chick flick, if you don't think too hard about it, is a reasonably enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half.
