Review of Leap (2017) by Andrei D — 01 Sep 2017
I personally hated the film as the redhead undermines years of hard work by stealing the identity of another ballerina - when despite wanting to become a dancer her whole life she knows absolutely NOTHING about ballet.
Magically she isn't kicked out even though its obvious she knows not even the basics while her classmates have been likely practicing for years. Its just totally just unrealistic! I feel like it is an insult to hard work and that a fanciful dream is all you need - because I refuse to say she has a passion for something she is so clueless in.
Her friend managed to locate a dancing school before she did. Also, she never from my view shows guilt or remorse over taking the letter and the other girls place. I would have liked it better if she did get kicked out and then worked hard to make it on her own merits instead of stealing, lying, and a sheer amount of luck was all she needed.
