Review of Leap (2017) by Carol H — 08 Sep 2017
It took me awhile to see this movie, but it was well worth the wait. The story is executed in a way that makes it classic rather than cliched. I liked how Felicie was allowed to be a flawed protagonist; it made her more real and interesting.
Her transformation feels believable and her happy ending is well-earned. Also, I thought all of the songs (excluding 'Confidant') perfectly fit the film. Admittedly, a few of the characters (like Victor and Camille) are weak and there were times when the dubbing was obvious.
But other than that, "Leap!" is a sincere and joyous animated film that deserves more recognition.
