Review of Le Week-End (2013) by Pauli X — 16 Oct 2013
A dysfunctional late middle aged couple attempt to salvage their marriage in Paris. A grotesque relationship - Broadbent as a craven lapdog and Lyndsey Duncan as a mad bitch. The notion that this dead relationship could be turned round on the basis of a single authentic speech is unconvincing and I spent the whole film wishing that he would do them both a favour and tell her to shove off - and by the way running out of restaurants without paying or defacing hotel rooms is a cretinous way of demonstrating your radical honesty.
