I?m surprised to read so many bad reviews of this film on here.
One other reviewer wrote ?it?s just about life.? Yeah, and that?s what makes it such a nice film to watch! The dinner speech by Jim Broadbent has to be one of the funniest things I?ve watched in ages. It?s wonderful that the only person who appreciates it, is the pothead son of Jeff Goldblum.
This film is not a classic. But there are some great actors in the film - including the still ?very sexy at 60? Lindsay Duncan - and despite all the misery in the film, it still ends on a positive note. So cheer up! Perhaps the film is more like life than some dare to imagine.
