First of all, the translation of "Le Samourai" is not "The Godson". Take a wild guess as to what it might be. Coolest movie of all time. Enough said. Unfortunately this kind of cool has been parodied and outdated, but maybe that's for the best.
If I could go back in a time machine, one thing I'd do is drink pastis and smoke Gauloises with Jean-Pierre Melville. Then again he probably drank Budweiser and smoked Marlboros...the only French man on the planet who could (or would even want to) get away with it.
