Review of Le Samouraï (1967) by Todd P — 27 May 2008
Le Samourai is the opus of the already impressive resume of Jean-Pierre Melville. The film, in addition to being a tightly wound thriller, it is a superb investigation into the mind of the perfect criminal, a man with no past, little future, and who lives only to continue living for what he does best: killing.
This is one of the truly great films in existence.
