Review of Le Samouraï (1967) by Devin D — 13 Mar 2010
I really loved this movie. Jean- Pierre Melville presents existentialism in the flesh, He's quite, fashinable, and revered.
Alain Delon embodies his character completely and grabs your attention from the opening scene. A film that is mostly silent, shows you a very isolated assasian who can love no one, but who everyone wants for themselves. It end in a big somehow calm climax, that is somewhat nihilist, but it still delivers.
