Review of Le Samouraï (1967) by Matthew K — 22 Dec 2007
One of the coolest films ever. Alain Delon is Jef Costello, a lonely contract killer. He has the keys to any Citroen in Paris, has a nearly nothing in his apartment, and is always two steps ahead of his enemies.
Jean-Pierre Melville's direction is spectacular, and Alain Delon and the supporting cast give great, minimalist performances. A highly recommended film.
