Review of Le Havre (2011) by Paul D — 10 Apr 2014
A beautifully filmed but minimalist fable from the Finnish auteur Kaurismaki. Who knew a political film about illegal migration could be so overwhelmingly charming? A rare film that makes biting commentary on the injustice of migration but also presents a positive vision of humanity dealing with it in a fairy tale manner.
