Review of Le Corbeau (1943) by Bradley T — 19 Apr 2011
A mysterious person only known as 'The Raven' begins sending various cryptic letters to people of a small french town. The letters threaten to expose things about these members, which they would not like exposed.
The towns people try to discover who this person is, as these letter begin to expose the true feelings that many of the french people had for one and other. Clouzot's film is no doubt as important one, as it was made during the Nazi Occupation of France.
honestly found the film to be a tad on the slow side, though there is some great subtext and a few scenes with some truly remarkable visuals. Its an important film, just not very entertaining or all that interesting.
