Review of LBJ (2017) by Shy A — 07 Nov 2017
I always liked LBJ, unpolished as he may have been. His position on Vietnam was unfortunate and not all his civil rights initiatives were enlightened. Yet he did the job that needed doing-freed the country of its greatest mistake, the enslavement and dehumanization of millions.
Not sure JFK could actually have accomplished it, had he lived. JFK was idealistic rather than tough like Johnson. He didn?t know the South. Johnson did. This isn't the best movie ever made, but it was engrossing.
I liked it a lot.
