Review of Lawn Dogs (1997) by Manan I — 28 Jun 2009
I felt it dragged on and on and they tried to stuff so much into it that some things they could have elaborated on and made the film much more interesting they didn't bother. Some scenes felt useless and I'm pretty sure there was a meaning behind those scenes, we're just never told explained to why those scenes were used since they add no driving force to the plot.
In a community of rich people with supposedly higher education, they all come off as pompous morons and Sam Rockwell' s character is a genius compared to all of them. Yes the concept was good but it just didn't work out, even with Sam Rockwell's talented performance.
The ending was a little different from what you expected but it was a decent one. Personally I wouldn't recommend this one, even if you're a fan of the cast of actors and jeeze I thought Mischa Barton was annoying already, she's even worse in the movie! And was seeing Sam Rockwell's wag necessary?
