Review of Lawless (2012) by David B — 30 Jul 2013
Lets see well I expected an all too familiar film when I watched this but lawless was original enough its based on a true story of the bondurant brothers who where big moonshiners in prohibition era america.
it tells the story of there loves the money they made but mainly of the voilence they had to overcome and enforce while running the illegal ill have one bottle of hootch business. the film runs kind of slow and can be slightly confusing in places especially after hootch but really it holds up well with good acting and perpect period piece set.
the screenplay was written by nick cave of the bad seeds which I found interesting who on review also wrote the proposition another western, I personally think lawless is better than the proposition and there slightly similiar to, they both have guy pierce who was excellent in lawless as the villian whos willing to kill men, lawless is glorified or exaggerated and may even bias.
