Review of Law Abiding Citizen (2009) by Henry F — 09 Jun 2014
Don't watch this film if you like to think. If you do like to think, you will be disappointed. It could of made some really good and interesting points about law and the justice system, but it got totally lost in itself and became another dumb thriller that no doubt a bunch of people love.
It baffles me, do the writers and directors of films like this not realise how much stupid, nonsensical rubbish there is laced through them all? Or do they just ignore it because they know it will sell anyway? I think we all know which one it is.
The characters had no personality, and, lets face it, were all totally brain dead. I'm smarter than every single one of them, that's not me saying I'm smart, its me saying they're laughably dumb, and that's worrying when you think they were all supposed to be part of the legal system.
But, like I said, it had potential. Maybe there'll be a remake one day that actually addresses the points this one seemed to want to make, or maybe they were just mentioned by accident.
