Review of L'Avventura (1960) by Zoey P — 19 Feb 2009
From this movie's reputation, I expected it to be plodding and slow. Instead, it was entrancing; I could not take my eyes off the screen. What makes this movie so special is that everything about it is communicated through its images, therefore it is true cinema; it could not exist in any other form.
"L'Avventura" is an example of absoultely perfect direction. Everything about this movie, every angle, every shot, is exactly as it should be.
