Review of Laurel Canyon (2003) by Paul P — 08 Apr 2009
Well played, interesting and always entertaining. It's a touch light to be sure but there's nothing wrong with that.
The story itself is not particularly special, but the cast work wonders with the material. Frances is awesome as per usual. Bale is very watchable and Nivola makes the most of his time. As for Kate, she is pretty good here and she looks amazing....
The problem that I had is that every single character (apart from McElhone) is a self absorbed preppy fool. This makes it kinda difficult to care about what happens to any of them.
Although this is the case, the cast use there considerable talents to make this a good watch which it undoubtably is.
