All during this film, I kep thinking, "Wow--this is kind of over the top. I know exactly where this is going." It took an unexpected turn, I was surprised, and then I thought, "I know exactly where this is going.
" I was really hoping this would be better . . . and then I was suddenly crying uncontrollably. Despite Latter Days's flaws and predictability and over-the-top-ness, it's incredibly moving, and I have a feeling I'm going to be haunted by it for the next few days and/or periodically.
