The one huge problem I have with the movie is how fast the two leads fall in love. Come on, I'm really supposed to believe that it would play out just like that? There's no buildup to it at all.
Besides that, Latter Days is definitely an excellent movie. While I can't say I'm completely knowledgeable about how Mormons deal with transgressions in their members, the situation presented in Latter Days is definitely heartbreaking, even if it's not entirely accurate or true.
C'mon, suspend your disbelief for a bit, if only for the sake of allowing yourself to get swept away by the plot.
