Review of Late Spring (1949) by Noel V — 29 Sep 2007
Ozu's finest film, in my opinion, ostensibly about a young womanl's anxieties concerning her widowed father, who is marrying again, and her status afterwards. Somewhere near the end the point of view flips and it's a different film entirely.
The finale is piercingly sad.
