Review of L'Atalante (1934) by Mitchell W — 27 Aug 2007
One of the most romantic films ever made wrapped around a fairly slow, skeletal plot. The things I remember most about this film is the offbeat characters flirting with Dita Parlo and those magnificent shots that always find amazing beauty even when the setting's restricted to mundane situations around the same, small set of locations.
