Review of Last Tango in Paris (1972) by D F — 09 Feb 2009
Highly recommend this movie! I was about 14 when it first came out and saw it in my early twenties and again just recently. Brando is really brilliant here playing a tortured survivor of a spouse who commits suicide.
This is raw, brittle at times crude life splashed in all its muted colors for the viewer to squirm and become just as depressed and disillusioned as its characters. In amany respects, it may portray Brando's own reality which has seen much tragedy and controversy.
Get this movie and enjoy it in all its intricacies and splendour. A true classic!
