Review of Last Tango in Paris (1972) by Michael O — 03 Aug 2009
Possibly the most unflinchinching stare into the depths of the human soul in allf cinema, and the best reason for thinking (wrongly) that Marlon Brando was the world's greatest actor. From the first swooping crane shot onto an anguished Brando, we know that we are infor one ofthe most pleasurably uncomfortable rides that the cinema can give us.
Unmissable... really and truly unmissable.
