Review of Last Tango in Paris (1972) by Vincent H — 12 Feb 2012
One of the most graphic films I have ever seen. The directing was very good but I think Bertolucci might have hurt himself with this film and possibly set himself back a few years. Marlon Brando was great as Paul in the film but he played an oversexed asshole, which isn't too far from his own true life.
Maria Schneider was also great but she might have hurt herself with all the graphic sex scenes and full frontal nudity given the time period. Still, it was an excellent film and had an amazing ending.
