Review of Last Man Standing (1995) by Rosemarie S — 21 Sep 2009
Walter Hill is one of the last great hard-edged action-oriented American filmmakers, in the spirit of guys like Peckinpah. As directors go, he's also one of my alternative favorites. The Warriors, The Long Riders, Streets of Fire, Extreme Prejudice and Wild Bill are all great works of graphic western lore. Last Man Standing rocks it as well. I really dig Christopher Walken as Hickey and, of course, Bruce is Bruce.
Finn: "I guess you'll just have to kill me.".
Smith: "It'll hurt if I do.".
