Review of Last Days in the Desert (2016) by Ashur D — 20 Aug 2016
I was excited to see this movie give a focused and enriched account of Jesus' forty days and nights in the wilderness. However, beyond taking Jesus as a character and the setting of the wilderness, this movie bears no resemblance to Biblical accounts and in fact contradicts the Biblical account in several ways.
It is one thing for a movie to artistically build upon the Biblical account which serves as the foundation, but it is quite another to make a movie which bares no resemblance at all, even in the fundamentals, and only uses the name of Jesus in order to bait viewers into a story without any historical basis, where the writer and director creates something out of pure fantasy without reflecting the Biblical account at all.
