The height difference between Hoffman and Thompson strengthens the comedy in this film. However, I cannot say with confidence that Last Chance Harvey is either a romance or a comedy since there isn't much of either.
Its simply an effective movie that draws empathy, excitement and disappointment from the audience until the happy ending which provides satisfaction.
