Review of Last Chance Harvey (2008) by Ed F — 21 Jan 2010
Part 'Before Sunrise', part 'Love Actually', part every other romantic comedy created, this lightweight film is cliche-ridden and completely predictable, but with a likeable twist due to the shift in focus from young love to old love.
Hoffman and Thompson shine in their roles and show a keen chemistry first displayed in 'Stranger Than Fiction', helping the film avoid any dull moments, despite Eileen Atkins' unecessary subplot.
This isnt the best film of the genre, neither is it particularly groundbreaking, just delightfully average.
