Review of Last Chance Harvey (2008) by David S — 11 May 2011

Nice romantic movie, replete with little cameos and references for the film-buffs. Somewhat stereotyped (but not inaccurate) US view on London, but Emma Thompson does her bit to dispel the more banal myths.

The acting is superb and the script may have taken some impromptu supplementaries from the skillsets of Hoffmann and Thompson.

But too slow and explanatory, patronising the audience, to be great. But watchable, and maybe will reward repeating.
