Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Levi C — 03 Jan 2011
I'm not quite sure how to feel about this movie. I mean it shows the story of a man who for all purposes is just a shy loser. He's sweet, but has some shyness about talking to people in general and especially women.
Then everyone in the town just goes along with his delusion. To be what nice? It's stupid really. I guess I feel like the brother who thinks it's all quite ridiculous.
I mean is perfectly acted for what it is, packed with emotion, and delirium.
But, there's something in me that's just real Spartan about people with defects. I'm just not sympathetic. If you can't fix what's broken, toss it off the damn cliff and remove it from the gene pool.
