Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Judith%20 T — 12 Aug 2018
'Lars and the Real Girl' is a fun time. It may not break new ground, or offer up some form of unique experience, but the character of Lars is very easy to enjoy and sympathise with. Whilst almost every aspect of the film is done well, it's the performances of Emily Mortimer and Ryan Gosling in particular that hold the film together and ensure its success.
Gosling, once again, proves he is one of the most underestimated and undervalued talents working today - please, why does this guy not get more attention? If I had to describe the movie in one word, I guess I would say that it's sweet.
Definitely an odd love story, but a heartwarming one nonetheless.
