Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Francisco M — 01 May 2011
A rather unique film about loneliness and grief. The basic premise is about Lars (Ryan Gosling) a lonely man, who one day begins to form a relationship with a sex doll. Its Lar's cooping mechanism for his years of abandoment and lonliness, and the town slowly begins to embrace the doll as the real life person Lars sees it as.
Its definitely a rather unique film, and its well acted by all involved. The problem for me is that I just never was that emotionally invested in the characters until the last 10 minutes or so. I think it should have probably had more comedy considering the premise.
