Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Ollie W — 14 Oct 2011
You know a film is great when you watch a man dance with a doll and cry for her and you're moved by it instead of finding it laughable. Lars and the Real Girl is a difficult exercise in fine film making because it would have easily ended up as a joke and a huge mess.
Instead it turned out to be a touching and heartwarming piece of art majorly thanks to an excellent screenplay and a top notch performance by the immense talent that is Ryan Gosling.
