Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Mike D — 31 Jul 2014
A deeply moving film. I cried - a lot - because of the unexpected love and humanity showed by Lars' family and the towns people to this young man who was in serious trouble. This is a deeply-felt lesson about how we should take care of each other, especially when our first instinct is to turn and run.
Great script, smart, seamless direction, and excellent acting, especially by Ryan Gossling, who handles a difficult role with subtlety and grace. A beautiful story which I will not soon forget.
