Review of Larry Crowne (2011) by Andy W — 29 Nov 2011
Sickly, smug and poorly realised, this film bears no resemblance to real life. Sure, not all films do, but if you're pitching your story as something to appeal to every person, there has to be something to identify with, instead of what's on offer here.
The sad thing is, I could actually see what Hanks was aiming at, and it did have potential to be a fluffy comedy with a bit of commentary on our current economic times - its the 'Big Fat Greek Wedding-ness' of it that drags it down into faffy nonsense.
