Review of Land of the Dead (2005) by Cal ( — 13 Apr 2012
I was pleasantly surprised with the result of this new zombie film. It seems that the regular zombie movie plot has been taken away, polished and modified to create this fantastic piece of cinema! Basically our world has given the streets to the dead and humans live in a complex where the zombies are unable to get to.
At night the mercenaries always enjoy going out of the complex to retrieve supplies like liquor. The zombies start off pretty dumb, but then as they grow rather peckish they become smarter and ultimately try to defeat the remaining humans.
The film is of course loaded with gore, I'm sure audiences will love watching people getting torn apart and getting their organs pulled out...it's just so entertaining! This is like the new generation of zombie movies and the way it was so brilliantly made makes this a unique film and one that audiences have to see!
