Elokuvasarjan evoluutio on muuttanut tyylin toimintaelokuvamaiseksi ja kauhusta on jäljellä enää rippeet. Toimintasankarit/sankarittaret kohtaavat yhä älykkäämpiä zombeja. Romero on alkanut kilvoitella määrällä, ei laadulla.
