Review of Lakeview Terrace (2008) by Marisol M — 25 Jul 2009
There was potential here, but LaBute doesn't take the story or the character development in the interesting direction hinted at. Abel Turner could've been a once-betrayed man with a deeply enigmatic sense of ethics worth looking into, but he's turned into a one-note psycho.
The steady build of racial tension could've turned into something really thought-provoking, but rather sputters out with a clumsy, action-thriller conclusion.
