Review of Lake Placid vs. Anaconda (2015) by Sean D — 03 Oct 2015
19 years later after the release or production of the original Anaconda, the series continues after a small hiatus of the four original films for a crossover with another animal monster series this year in 2015, Lake Placid. This film, which skips the actual plot line of Anacondas for the like the first half of the film, besides the beginning doesn't get good until the two meet each other.
Three individual plots all become intertwined. One is trying to find the Queen Anaconda for the mating of the crocs and her. Another is trying to can the menace that is once again out of control in the town of Lake Placid, with the addition of anacondas. The last is a useless plot of girls trying to get into a sorority. It's absolutely pointless and idiotic.
The action gets a little crazy but rushed towards the 2nd half and end of the film. Especially the end of the film, it had all the potential, but it ass mostly wasted. The film's general plot and especially the ending sets the film up for several continuous crossover sequels, in which has only happened with one other series, Alien vs. Predator. If this series ends up having more than one sequel, that'll be a record.
