Review of Lake Mungo (2009) by Allen B — 09 Jan 2011

Pretty good suspense/horror/ghost story that's scary when it really shouldn't be, especially at the end when you're given a better sense of what happened. You're just kind of sad ultimately, and that's not what horror movies are supposed to do. How dare this movie defy convention!

Good otherwise. Some weird twists here and there, and the overuse of extreme close ups of pixelated images got annoying after a while, especially the ones that are really hard to make out.

Still, well acted, and some scenes were really well done and scary, and, like I said earlier, it's a pretty sad film in the end.
